christmas fun

Hope everyone had a good christmas! i did! Every year I get spoiled! Dan did a great job picking out gifts for me and my parents got us sooo much stuff i cant even believe it! We got up @ 6am opened our gifts and then wnt to my parents house, opened more gifts, played with our gifts, ate, napped, and then went to our grandparents houses. everything was really good.

Saturday we had our christmas party. We all pretty much got really shit faced, ate way too much junk food and played a ton of silly games. I cooked dinner and made a dip and nicole made brownies that were wicked good! We bought Bailys and chocolate liquor and vodka and peppermint snopps. We had a lot of great drinks. when i woke up the house was such a mess u would have thought we had 100 people over! haha. but its all good! So that party is absolutely becoming a tradition!

I tried and failed getting bindi to wear a elf hat. Shes seriously no fun!

Seems like christmas came and went way to fast this year. This whole year has been a huge Blur!

seems like forever

I havent written in here in a while. Work has been really crazy between being short staffed becuz of the damn strike and other little silly distractions!
I cant believe chritsmas eve is monday! i feel like i didnt do much shopping, but i got a present for everyone!
Lets see. Last week i had some time off, Basically the snow ruined all my plans! but it was still a pretty good time. Dan took the time off too, so it was nice to just sorta chill with him and enjoy not having to rush around. We took the pup out for some snow fun. She wasnt too fond of it, but she needs to get used to it! It has done nothing but snow latley. seriously. yesterday was supposed to be a dusting and it turned into a ton of inches!]) Speaking of partys why do i work for a huge company and we had an in-house party? Its ok the food was really good and there was entertainment, so i guess we cant complain.
People keep asking dan and i if we will enjoy our first christmas together. technically this will be christmas number 7... lol
Hopefully we get out early on Monday. We have party with dans family on monday, that im sort of not looking forward to. i dont know why, i just, i dunno.. with everything with the wedding and stuff im just scared. ppl never are happy with what i want.
Anyways, just wanted to blog since i havent in a while. its been a rough few days.. TGIF

My car has no Doors. We Live in Massachusetts, I could die!

Last night we watched deck the halls. For the most part it was pretty lame. The movie had two highlights for me. The Line that is the title of my blog. And fox 25 being in the movie (made me feel a little famous!). But yea, wasnt as funny as they made it out to be and it was a lot cheesey and predictable!

Anyways. The weekend went by way to fast! Friday nicole and i ran around doing christmas shopping and really i didnt get much of any done! Sat dan and i went on an adventure and we drove out to a new outdoor shopping place. It was really nice, but it was too cold for outdoor shopping!! Sunday we finally put up our tree and our make shift fence around it to keep the 16 lb furry monster away from it! Surprisingly it worked. Shes really not that interested in it. She barked a few times at it but that was it.

Sunday night she had her first "snow". I took some pix but really it was only a dusting of snow @ our house. We did learn that there is no doubt that Bindi is our dog. She hates the cold and would much rather be in the heated house where her paws do not have to get wet or cold. Just wait till we get real snow. I think she will never bark to go out again!

So two people i know have been dress shopping to go some where fancy. I want to go somewhere that i need to buy a new dress for! haha. Alas, that will not happen.

Fast fwd to the next day when we were outside and the puggle (who is always on a leash) got lose from the kid that was walking him and RAN INTO our yard. I decided to face my fear of this stupid little dog and got down at pat him. he was fine! lol very friendly. But how WEIRD is that?!

Happy holidays

I absolutely have a bad case of the Mondays today.
My little holiday vacation was wonderful and much needed! We got out of here early on Wednesday and traffic wasnt bad a all. On my way home Ian decided he wanted to split rock band with dan and i. So we got home and went to best buy and bought the bundle pack. We stayed up until like 1 am playing. Ian is our drummer, dan is our guitarist and i am the lead singer. This game puts Guitar hero to shame! We played pretty much all weekend and did as much as we can on the medium level, so now we're stuck on some of the hard songs.

Friday I was going to hit up black Friday sales for a washer/drier and Lap top, but we went to best buy Wednesday and nothing was really nice euff to get up @ 4am for! And i think i want a dell anyways and they have them for around the same price. Friday we ended up going over eric and nicoles and we went to eat @ the G.A.P. and the boys played some pool. It was nice, we always forget about that place and the pub grub is really good and cheap! Then we went home and played scene it for xbox. that was so much fun!

Saturday and sunday dan and i decorated (i did the inside on turkey day) and it was freeking cold! like 20*s cold! We got it all done tho. We havent put up the tree yet cuz we need some kind of contraption to put around it to keep Bindi from eating it. It'll prob go up during the week or over the weekend. im on no rush. Everything else is decorated.

Yesterday we went to Kohls and got a new soy candle that smells like Christmas tree. We got the last one and it smells SOOO good!

So now its monday morning, Its raining and im so tired cuz i couldnt sleep last night. I am NOT enjoying this. Hopefully this week will go by quickly.

Dreams

For the past few nights i keep having these dreams. They are all different, but over all they have the same theme of a certain someone being overly mean to me and calling me names. Last night it was so vivid i can remember every single word exchanged in the confrontation. I really think its contributing to me not sleeping well, because i have been SUPER tired for a few days. I dunno, hopefully i can shake this dream and get on with a good night sleep!
I also had a dream last night that i did not do my Christmas shopping, Like i totally forgot! which is so unlike me cuz i love Christmas shopping. I think its cuz i really haven't even started shopping, or worrying about shopping yet this year. It sucks being a grown up and having to budget your money wisely. Sigh. Hopefully i can get some shopping done over the next few days and at least FEEL a little bit better!
Its almost time for turkey day break and i couldnt be happier! I defiantly need a few days to just regroup and get things done. (and maybe get a good night sleep!)

Amy's Kitchen Nightmares!

Last night i was going through our cabinets looking for ingredients for Dans bday cake, and i needed butter milk. Last yr i made dan a cake and it also called for buttermilk, so i had some left over...................... i called my dad to ask if it expires only to find out what i made dans disastrous red velvet cake with last year, was not in fact butter milk, it was butter milk POWDER, which is used to MAKE butter milk by mixing it with water!!!!! woops! Hopefully this yrs cake will be better! ive gotten a lot better at this cooking thing!

I dropped bindi off this morning and she was happy to c me go! such a kid!!

So i found this interesting list online, and its so ture..

“Top 10” list of stereotypes I see and contributions from other police spouses about how on or off the mark these viewpoints are.

1. We never sleep or eat and can’t function well because our minds are so consumed with fear for our officers.

2. We think we are above the law / we are above the law / we will be our friends and neighbors own personal arm of the law.

3. Our husband will cheat on us and our marriages are doomed.

4. We have no personal lives or identities – we are known as “Mrs. Officer.”

5. We are also always “on duty” as an extension of our husband.

6. If we live in a nice house or have nice things, our officers are “on the take.”

7. As their friends / neighbors / acquaintances, we’ll always help them out of “trouble.”

8. Our husbands are public property, and as such must always enforce the law or entertain at parties in a moment’s notice, on- or off-duty.

9. We are either into the kink or masochistic for wanting to be married to an officer.

10. All we want to talk about is how evil police are.

Number 10 i feel strongly about here are what some others say about it:

“…And don't tell me that you think all the officers in my husband's town are jerks (or worse). Don't you realize that you're putting my husband in the group?” -- Alison, Texas

“… Then when I tell people the department he works at for some reason people think it's ok to make some sort of rude comment about our officers. Why do people think it's ok to make a stupid remark? I don't make some smart-ass comments about their spouse selling cars for a living and ask if all salesmen are shady!” -- Michelle, Georgia

“When I tell people (he’s an officer, they) think it's ok to make some sort of rude comment about our officers..."they just pick on teenagers" or some other snotty remark. Why do people think it's ok to make a stupid remark? I don't make some smart-ass comment about THEIR spouse selling cars for a living and ask if ALL salesmen are shady!” -- Michelle, Georgia

My personal favorite – “My taxes pay his salary,” mentioned when someone wants my husband (or any officer) to do something for them. -- Renee, Los Angeles

“The other day my husband was cleaning our cars and my neighbor had the nerve to say "can you clean my car next?" She continued, "I want to see my tax dollars hard at work." -- Jessica, California
