I have been wanting to blog about Disney for a while now, but every time i go to something else catches my attention. I swear the older i get the more i develop A-d-d.
So Anyways, our Disney trip was so perfect and i am SO sad thinking that its all over and we have to wait at least another year before we can go back. we left bright and early sunday morning to catch a 6am flight! We thought we would have a nice hastle free trip to logan by printing out our boarding passes on Saturday. Of course Jet blue was having some issue with their system and we were unable to. So needless to say i spent most of sat night worrying about whether or not we would actually be able to get on the plane. All the worrying was for absolutely nothing. The woman @ the jet blue counter informed us that the comp system they use is a POS and it doesnt work very well (boy can i relate!) So we get thru security and had about 2 hrs to kill. I hate flying, a lot, so i was a big ball of nerves and excitement. Once we got on the plane and were in the air for a bit i felt a lot better. (the Roseanne marathon on TVLand helped). We arrived in orlando around 9am and it was hot and humid (JUST how i love it). I had hired a car (for 60 bucks) to come pick us up at the airport and bring us to the hotel. The previous night they had called to inform me that we were being upgraded from the rinky dink 60 dollar sedan to a STRETCHED HUMMER. (which i looked up and is over 400 buck!) This was the start of what would be the most amazing trip ever. The hummer was ridiculous and we got looks the whole ride there. I felt way too important when we got to our hotel. We had told our vacation planner over the phone that we would be celebrating our honeymoon (which really wasnt TOO big of a lie, i mean technically we never did go on a honeymoon...) so when we checked in we got 'just married pins'. After we checked in and threw our bags in the room we ran out and went right to Animal Kingdom. First ride of the day was expedition Everest. Best. ride. ever. It was a great way to kick off the day. next we hit up the dinosaurs ride and the water rapids ride (where there was a 2 hr wait and the fast pass guy just let us go thru the line because we were just married!) we did the walking safaris (skipped the actual safari since we had done that last time we were there). We stayed there till around dinner time and we headed back to teh hotel. Dan had ordered the 'ears to the bride and groom package' which gave me my bride Minnie ears. which is all i ever really wanted! It also came with some cheese and crackers and a bottle of champagne (which we promptly spilled all over everything!) So we relaxed on our patio with a glass of champagne and then went down to the hotel bar. For dinner we ordered nachos and dan got a beer and i got a drink with a strobe ice cube in it (that i got to keep!) After that we hopped a boat over to the magic kingdom that was open till 1am our first night. Here we caught the fireworks, went on splash mountain, thunder mountain, haunted mansion, pirates of the Caribbean, Tea cups (where dan did not get sick this time!) and bought 13 dollar sunblock! To say magic kingdom after dark is incredible would be a huge understatement. the castle all lit up, the lights, the fireworks, the less crowdedness! it was perfect. We finally called it a night around midnight and went back to the room and passed the heck out. i honestly have no idea how we stayed up that late on such little sleep.
Day 2. We headed to epcot first thing in the morning. i was really looking fwd to epcot this trip because this is the first disney trip since turning 21 and i was looking forward to drinking around the world. It was also Epcots flower festival and i was REALLY looking forward to seeing that. In the morning we went on Soarin', a ride whose name i cant rmeber but took u thru disneys eco farm, Saw a jim cantore ride (txt my cajun to tell her next time shes there she can ride jim), test track, finding nemo, a nice walk through the nemo aquarium, and then walked through all the pavilions. We were starving and we are picky, so we ate at the America pavilion and drank beer in Germany, Sake in Japan, and more beer in England. In England 'the hat lady' sang us 'just married' song. It was nice and embarrassing all at the same time. After a long day in the hot sun (and a lot of beer) we headed back to the room. We chilled again on the patio with some cheese and crackers and fed the ducks. After that we headed to downtown disney for some shopping and i had hoped a balloon ride. It was too windy that night for the ride so i was a little bummed. but i did manage to spend a good chunk of change @ the stores, so all was not lost. After that we were absolutely SPENT and headed back to the hotel to pass out.
Day 3. Hollywood studios. Not my fav park. we went on the great movie ride, the back lot tours, saw Indiana Jones, and went on some star wars ride. We also went on a toy story ride that 2 nice people gave us their sold out fast passes for. That was probably the most fun i had in that park. Dan won the game, but i had more accuracy so thats that! After hollywood studios we came back to the hotel and had a few hours to kill before the Luau @ the Polynesian hotel. we puttered around our hotel and took some photos and sat on the hotel beach for a while. This was our last night, so i was starting to get sad already :( We headed to the Polynesian for the 8pm Luau and had so much fun. the food wasnt great because it was a lot of meat on bones (which i do not eat) so i really had a hard time getting over the fact that there were animal parts on my plate, even after 3 glasses of wine! The show, however, was amazing! we got called up to dance for our honeymoon, which was just a lot of fun. The night was a perfect last night! Again completely beat, we went back to the hotel and passed out.
Day 4. Our last day. We took the first boat over to the magic kindgdom and had breakfast on Main street usa and did even MORE shopping. (ps- we had already mailed back TWO boxes of souvenirs... yes i have a shopping problem!!) after about an hour we headed back to the room, gathered up our stuff and went to the lobby to pout and wait for our car to come. The car came and picked us up and dan loves to talk to people, so we spent the whole car ride talking to our driver. and of COURSE he also used to work in TV so dan just HAD to tell him i work in Tv. So i couldnt even pout the whole way to the airport. Orlandos airport sucks compared to logan. It was confusing and busy. once we got thru security (where i sliced my hand on my bracelet since they made me take it off) i sat and read for 2 hrs. we got on the plane, i was exhausted. All the not sleeping had finally caught up with me. The rise home i had a short attention span and watched about 16 shows in 2.5 hrs. We got off the plane at logan and it was cold and raining. It matched how i was feeling perfectly.
Disney was so much fun. i'm so glad we went and i cant wait to go back. Luckily i took enuff pictures to hold me over till next time :)
